If your child was born between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014, he/she should start school in September 2018.

This provides you with essential information on the process of applying for a school/academy, and the criteria that is used to allocate places. You need to apply for a place at a primary school, even if your child attends a nursery that is attached to a school.
Guidance and information
You may be required to complete a supplementary information form and/or provide a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate. Please contact the school directly to find out about their admission criteria. Without this supporting evidence, your application will not be considered on faith grounds.
If you move house once you have submitted your application, you will need to provide proof of your new address to Blackpool school admissions as soon as possible.
Applying for an independent or special school
If you are applying for an independent (fee paying) school, you must apply directly to the school. If your child needs to access a place at a special school, this will be arranged by the special educational needs officer.
Closing date, national offer date and late applications
The national offer date for primary school applications is 16 April 2018. If you have applied online, you can access your account for confirmation of your offered school. If you apply on a paper application form, a letter will be posted to you on this date.
