The governors and staff positively encourage the wearing of school uniform. “School uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of the school and setting an appropriate tone. Uniform can instil pride, support positive behaviour and discipline, encourage identity with, and support for school ethos, ensures students of all races and backgrounds feel welcome, protect children from social pressure to dress in a particular way and nurture cohesion and promote good relations between different groups of students”.
Most items of our uniform can be bought from any of the major stockists or chain stores.
In the interests of health and safety, most jewellery and trainers should not be worn in school at any time. After much discussion and listening to requests from parents we have agreed to change our uniform policy to allow children to wear small, simple stud ear rings. However, we cannot take responsibility for the loss of any ear rings that are worn to school.
At Thames we follow the Blackpool PE Policy which states that children cannot wear ear rings for PE or swimming. Therefore, we ask that on PE and swimming days your child leaves their ear rings at home.
We hope that you will continue to support all other aspects of our uniform policy which remain the same.
