Welcome to Year 6
Miss Johnson is the year leader and teaches in class 6T with Mrs Hainey, Miss Wheatley teaches 6P with Miss Shaw and Miss Lonican teaches 6A with Mrs Little. We have the privilege of guiding your child through the last year at primary school and towards the end of their journey at Thames. I’m sure you can appreciate what a pivotal year Year 6 is, not only in regards to the SATs tests undertaken in May, but also in terms of the emotional and physical developments your children will embark on, as they begin to flourish into young adults; Year 6 is always an interesting year and en emotional rollercoaster: spots, greasy hair and tantrums… and that’s just the staff!
Our shared vision is that every child in Year 6 will leave Thames with an “I can do’ attitude and the personal grit and determination to be the best that they can be. Future aspirations and prospects are at the forefront of everything we do and we want the children to leave Thames knowing that their teachers believed in them and encouraged them to dream BIG!
